Newcastle Newspapers Pty. Ltd, publisher of The Herald, is seeking to recruit experienced sub-editors for maternity relief positions (one full time and one part-time position) on the news sub-editors€™ desk. This is an exciting opportunity to join Australia€™s leading regional daily newspaper.
These positions require sub-editing to a high standard of accuracy and within Fairfax style.
To succeed in this role applicants need to possess the following skills:
€ Experience in all facets of copy editing.
€ Demonstrated excellence in headline writing.
€ Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information.
€ Ability to work as part of a team.
€ Layout/design experience, particularly using the Cybergraphic system, would be an advantage.
