Following an operational review and recent organisational streamlining, one of the world’s leading mining companies is currently seeking an experienced greenfields coal exploration professional for an exciting new role as Global Commodity Specialist – Coal.
Ideally based in Perth, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality the company’s greenfields coal exploration project portfolio, maximising the prospect of discovery to add sustainable value to the company. As a key member of the exploration team, you will be charged with providing sound strategic advice to exploration and the business development teams. Your key accountabilities will include:
> The development of new ideas for coal exploration programs in areas capable of delivering high potential projects.
> Fostering professional development of the exploration team.
> Key input into the development of the exploration and coal business strategy
> Ongoing scanning of the coal industry and timely identification of project acquisition and JV opportunities that meet the organisation’s project criteria.
This exciting new appointment is ideally based in Perth (Brisbane considered), with regular domestic and international travel as required. In addition to the rare and challenging responsibility of overseeing a global exploration portfolio and providing valuable strategic direction, you will be provided with industry leading career development and progression opportunities coupled with a rewarding remuneration package.
As the ideal candidate, you will be tertiary qualified in geology with extensive greenfields coal exploration experience. You will also possess demonstrated proficiencies in large-scale project generation, property and project evaluations and familiarity with leading edge exploration methodologies.
